A8 vesting to hit almost 100
By Steven Moore

Almost 100 landowners will be affected directly by the preferred route of the A8 Belfast to Larne Dualling scheme, according to Regional Development Minister Conor Murphy.
Vesting the necessary land will amount to £8 million, he told the DUP's Alastair Ross.
However, these figures may change as a result of any alternations to the alignment during the scheme design process, he added.
Mr Murphy said consultants had carried out extensive public consultation on the A8 scheme.
This has included: over 250 people attending a public information event, held at the beginning of the study, in May 2008; more than 350 people attending a public exhibition at the end of the Stage 1 "preferred corridors" assessment, in November 2008; over 590 people attending the preferred route announcement exhibition in August 2009; and in access of 160 potentially affected landowners directly contacted in relation to the scheme.
The Minister added: "At present, the preferred route impacts on 99 landowners and in September this year Roads Service’s consultants began the process of re-contacting those affected by the scheme."
